Impressed Current Corrosion Protection System
Since 2017, Guangyu Technology has become the general agent of CORROSION (CORROSION & Water-Control BV) in Taiwan, dedicated to providing offshore wind power underwater foundation corrosion protection system - Impressed Current Cathode Protection (ICCP). CORROSION's impressed current corrosion protection system (ICCP) has a leading position in the global offshore wind power underwater foundation corrosion protection market, and its protection quality is highly recognized. CORROSION continues to develop new technologies to provide successful solutions for the offshore wind power industry.
To date, CORROSION has successfully protected 33 offshore wind farms around the world, providing more than 3,200 impressed current corrosion protection systems (ICCP), including the Yunlin Wind Farm (Yun Neng Wind Farm) in Taiwan.

What is Impressed Current Corrosion Protection (ICCP)?
Cathodic protection is an essential anti-corrosion technology for offshore wind power underwater foundations. It uses electrochemical methods to prevent corrosion of steel structures, which are mainly divided into sacrificial anode cathodic protection (SACP) and impressed current cathode protection (ICCP).

The sacrificial anode method uses aluminum alloy as a sacrificial anode (SACP). During the protection process, the aluminum anode relies on its own activity to protect the steel structure. However, while providing protection, the aluminum alloy sacrificial anode will gradually dissolve, which will release a large amount of metal elements into the ocean, causing adverse effects on the marine environment.
In contrast, impressed current corrosion protection (ICCP) is a more environmentally friendly method. It is an active protection method that provides external power through an electronic control system and uses a highly inert mixed metal oxide thin film titanium anode to achieve protection. The protection status can be monitored through the SCADA system (supervision and data acquisition control system) and the protection performance can be adjusted intelligently, showing a very high level of intelligent technology.
Considering the increasing attention paid to environmental protection worldwide, some countries have banned the use of sacrificial anode method (SACP) for corrosion protection of steel structures in open waters. Therefore, impressed current corrosion protection (ICCP) has become the only solution to protect wind power facilities. In addition, from the perspective of operating expenditure and total cost, ICCP is more economical.
As a world-leading expert in ICCP system design, manufacturing, maintenance and operation, CORROSION's systems are innovative and comply with legislative regulations, achieving the highest level of efficiency and protection.
